Why a indie rocktastic-kinda music video on OtakuBooty? For one, I saw this on Pitchfork today and really dug it. Two, because Double Dagger's singer designed the OtakuBooty logo, basically the only visually redeeming feature of this site's design.



Lest this come off as a name-drop where I attempt to make myself sound cool by talking about some dude I know in a band, I'd like to mention that Nolen designed this logo back in 2004 and hasn't returned my emails since as I attempted to get him to design me more stuff. WHATEVER, DUDES. We probably can't afford them now anyway; Nolen's and Bruce's design company Post Typography is all successful now and we're still dirtbags. :)

The last of our members are now wandering out of Myrtle Beach as BootyCon 2009 draws to a close. Excellent times were had all around as we enjoyed 5+ days of dancing, laughing, and playing on the beach.

I'd like to personally thank the dedicated staff members who made this all possible. Most of us funded our hotel and travel costs out of our own pockets for the pleasure of making this all possible for the community we love. What a wonderful group of people we have here!

If the site seems a little quiet to you, that's because it is. It's not just the drugs messing with you.

We're all down in Myrtle Beach. Technically, this is a weekend event, but people arrive earlier and earlier every year. A significant portion of the 131 known registrants were in town last night and having a great time even though it was only Wednesday. We can confirm the whispered accounts of midnight ocean frolicking.

We're gradually taking over this town! It's just like that oozy area of evil that that one kind of alien made in that Starcraft game. What were they called? Zergs?

Matt Fucking Miller tells us that this is his favorite episode yet, and that it "includes both Palmer Scott (of "Tim and Eric's Awesome Show") as Olimar, and a number of OBers (Heidi, Nessa, Nana, Reilly, etc)."

John Booty (that's me; I'm doing that weird referring-to-yourself-in-the-third-person thing) tells us that you should "watch it right now, or you're a pathetic imitation of human life whose veins are probably filed with a vile black ichor instead of the warm red blood of the living."

I'm always kind of blown away by how good Brawl is, and also by the fact that I have seen some of these people sort of naked. Thanks for another great episode, Team Brawl - I know a ton of hard work and editing goes into these.

Beautiful. Looks like a fusion of elements from their previous games: the "buddy" system of Ico, but with a climbable Shadow Of The Colossus-style beast as your companion.

The concept of a Creepy Stalker account was borrowed from another board but this video, from the DVD version of Super Furry Animals' excellent 2001 album Rings Around The World, was the inspiration for Creepy Stalker's "look." You'll see what I mean.

Because you always wanted to know his backstory, right?
