This seemingly involves making them barely recognizable.

Branded as "The Loonatics", Bugs Bunny is now black and yellow, featuring giant pointed ears, enlarged sharp teeth, glaring eyes with no pupils, and harsh "stylized" curves like something out of a cheap cartoon network show. Did I mention it looks like all the Loony Tunes have super powers?

Think Teen Titains, only..well....very lame.

eh, i dont. the old stuff is good but every from 1985 sucked ass. Move on, things change. Hell, it seems a decent idea except that they are using the old names. Let the old icons die or something.

Just change the names of the characters. It's not like they'll be the same anyhow.

I agree with Booty -- new cartoons with the old characters would've been ugh.

But the thing I don't understand is... superpowers? They're gonna be fighting evil? WTF? Why did WB have to try to "tweak" old characters instead of just making new ones. And the new Bugs, Buzz, whatever the fuck they're gonna call him -- he looks lam0r. >_<

<--- sad

This supposedly isn't any different than what WB did with Tiny Toon Adventures....which just made the LT gang YOUNGER.

i object; Tiny Toon Adventures didn't make them descendants of the originals, just other inhabitatns of... um... Toon Town, or Cartoonland, or whatever, and the originals made cameo appearances, so it was a little different. Also, it was fairly contemporized, with the classic toon gags but at least it took place in the same decade.

"Descendants" or no, this sounds freakin' gay. I imagine this like some kind of unholy blend of Batman Beyond and Looney Tunes... futuristic dystopia with lame WB chara spinoffs fighting crime - but, they MIGHT save it if they don't take it seriously AT ALL.

That Bugs rework... ::sigh:: good God, why? so not cool.

Ok, I have to say that I did throw up in my mouth when I first saw this, but looking at it now I have to say "meh".

The WB has no ability to do anything truly remarkable with their properties anymore, because doing something like that means taking risk, and their characters are simply worth too much money to take risks with.

That doesn't mean they can't do good stuff with their characters. The Batman movie will most likely be good. Some of the DC comics cartoons have been good. Some might even argue that The Batman cartoons that Tim Daly did in the 90s were great. Certainly, there were great episodes.

The Loonatics is a cartoon for kids. Kids will watch it, and they will most likely enjoy it. It will sell toys and t-shirts and other assorted merchandise. Chuck Jones will cetainly remain stationary in his grave, and the work he produced will continue to be a shining example of american animation in its hey day. That is all.

So who's the girl rabbit? I never understood who the girl bunny in Tiny Toons was supposed to be based on, as I don't remember any female rabbit in the original Loony Tunes or Merry Melodies, unless you count when Bugs dressed up like a girl to fool Elmer or Yosemite Sam.

Am I the only person who's actually kinda looking forward to this?

I mean this just seems so ridiculous, that it has the possibility of actually being something good.
