I have Machiavelli's The Prince tucked in my bag for out-and-about consumption, since it's tiny and fits easily. I was surprised at how readable it is, actually. At home, going through The Arabian Nights.

Let's see, right now I'm reading:
- Dangerously Funny by David Bianculli. It's the biography of the Smother's Brothers.
- Spice & Wolf by Isuna Haiskura. The book that the anime was based off.
- The King's Buccaneer by Raymond Feist. I'm actually re-reading this because I enjoyed it and found it again after a couple years of being hidden in a box.
Once I finish one or two of those, I'll start:
- J-Pod by Douglas Coupland
- What the Dog Saw - By Malcolm Gladwell
- Under the Dome by Stephen King
It was a good birthday/holiday season for books for me.

PS: Anybody have any other GRRM recommendations I'm happy to hear it.
I just finished reading China Mievelle's Perdido Street Station and...I didn't like all that much. It was just ok (imo)

I just finished reading the complete works of William S. Burroughs Jr. and, frankly, need something a little light-hearted. Instead, I'm delving into an academic deconstruction of Noise Music.

Just finished the first two books in the Millennium trilogy (Stieg Larsson's strange Swedish mystery novels - very worth checking out, and I'm not usually a fan of mystery/thriller books), as well as The Making of the Atomic Bomb, one of the best non-fiction reads I've had in a LONG time (covers the development of physics throughout the early 20th century in addition to just the development of the weapon). Now getting started on a re-re-read of The Dispossessed, which is where my username comes from. I'm hitting it up again because I'm going to get to see Ursula Le Guin speak on Anarchism & Fiction in Portland next week while I'm visiting!! I'm more excited than a tween at a Twilight premiere!!

Working my way through Tad Williams' Otherland series, then planning to pick up Under the Dome, and who knows what else. I have about twenty books to work through after I hit a huge library book sale and spent five bucks on some good classics.

White Night by Jim Butcher. I have a friend who lent me the first 6 of the Dresden Files. He kind of reminds me of Glen Cook. Fantasy detective noir is just my style.

Today I decided to re-read the Song of Ice & Fire series because I am sure that I've forgotten some tiny details that probably matter to the storyline and don't want to be caught unawares whenever the next book is published.
So I'll be rereading them within the next five years. ;D

The Divine Invasion by Phillip K. Dick
I keep feeling like I read this before for some reason, it could just be that several years ago I barrowed this huge stack of his books from someone and read them in one mass binge, I have no idea what most of the titles were and I think a lot of it blurred together somehow. I also remember wondering around in a somewhat alter state of mind for awhile.
I think I might just be getting confused with Valis or something, not that it isn't a challenge to keep his books straight while you are reading them. I love a good mind bender.

Motherless Brooklyn. Not something I would normally read; it's too long of a story, but regardless, just try it. I loved it, but I like Capote-esque character stories. I thought i was cool.
PS: Murder stories can be way cool!
