God you have no idea what you're talking about and what you said is so stupid that it's kind of adorable. Really both threads (should?) have the same goal: losing fat and gaining muscle. Separating the two generally turns into "I only lift 5 lbs at a time for 1000 reps and do cardio for 3 hours so I don't turn into a nasty veiny bodybuilder" but my bad for assuming (no snark, honestly, I jumped to conclusions due to my experience with the rest of the WHOLE INTERNET) MistressZelda 3 years ago on 01/21/10 Equipped: Triforce I haven't worked out in like 4 years. Maybe 5. Other than having sex. I am hoping to join a gym soon...really what I'd like to do is basketball and maybe yoga to help stretch my achy bones. Moderator IRON MOD Says: ![]() Xena 3 years ago on 01/21/10 Equipped: Keys to the Pussy Wagon 4days a week I'm in the gym doing weights and cardio, the rest of the week I'm at home doing simple yoga/toning exercises.
So far so good. Honestly as long as Im active..I feel better. dingo17 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: Devo Hat named "Drill boar hat. +18 stamina/damage" Just you know...make sure you use more than you take in, dodge the fats, etc. Really though, activity in general makes a big difference. If not in terms of weight loss, then in maintenance and general health. A Study in Pink 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: Home Pregnancy Test named "I'm going to name him Xantar II" Ok so. Trying to go to the gym for the first time today. The 10am pilates class was too ambitious for someone used to waking up at 10 and trying to drag along someone who is used to waking up at noon.
But! Here we go! Moderator nomad Says: ![]() motherhoodlum 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: N00dz of Bonk named "fuzzy luv" lol, I've actually been out of the gym for a bit, with life issues, but I'm very excited to be returning tomorrow. I don't do classes, I just stick with a strengthening routine my trainer had designed, and a good fatburning cardio 3 times a week. I had gained a LOT of weight last year, and was halfheartedly attempting to rid myself of it. Now, it's on like a freakin vengeance, I WILL be thin & Sexy again! Trainer set up a good positive way of working on it tho. She had said rather than an actual lb. loss goal (I was going for 30 lbs), to set more personal goals. Sooooo:
drop 2 dress sizes increase strength ease arthritis pain increase energy and overall feelings of wellness feel good about what I see in the mirror! I've discovered although these goals make this a much longer task to accomplish, it keeps me from obsessively weighing/feeling frustrated. It also gives me a heck of a lot more motivation to get through. Lin 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: Hide (Military Outfit) named "Panty-stealer" Hmmm revenge is such a great motivator for someone with as long a memory as myself! XD My main plan for this year is just to lose the extra weight and tone up.... starting after V day! Can't resist a good chocolate candy so I will lock up whatever I don't finish in a mini safe that will hold my personal allotment of sweets per month so I don't go over board like usual. A Study in Pink 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: Home Pregnancy Test named "I'm going to name him Xantar II" FUCK YEAH WORKING OUT IS AWESOME
no really that was fun! PS: I've got to stick to cardio and ab shit more or less until I get a set of exercises nailed down with my doctor because my arms are pretty much unusable and I can't bend them at a 90 degree angle or greater. But I'm excited to see him on Wednesday to find out what won't hurt me! Allison 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: The Auryn named "The Neverending Fandom!" Thats the thing with working out.. after you're done, you always are super glad you did it, but its the actual GETTING THERE that is hard.
I suck at working out. But I am becoming a master of the Wii Fit. it's not the greatest work out, but I have a good time doing it and for now its better than sitting on my ass. I still got those last 10 pounds to lose. i will Super Hula Hoop that shit off me! A Study in Pink 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: Home Pregnancy Test named "I'm going to name him Xantar II" Oh man failing already, I ate so much today :( Johnny Landmine 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: Devo Hat named "Effective non-streaking protection from Space Junk" You may not be failing as badly as you think, though. What you eat matters a lot more than how much most of the time, especially when you're working out. PS: That may be more of a weight training maxim, though. And I don't want to dig up the "wehhh cardio!" "wehhh weights!" issue again, but if you do eventually get into resistance training, you may be surprised how much you can (some might say /should/) eat without ruining all your effort. Talk to your doctor and get in to some resistance training, even if just a little bit! Health benefits and "WEIGHTS DOJO IS MOST POWERFUL DOJO, DIE WITH HONOR, CARDIO" aside, once you get into it it feels great and the difference it makes in your physique at first is a great motivator. xxxholic 3 years ago on 01/22/10 Equipped: Ramune Bottle Broken From Frustration named "How about I cut your ass, bitch?" I've already lost 25lbs of the baby weight in the last 6 months and lose at least 1lb a week if I stick to it, which is usually. Only 10 more pounds to go for pre-baby weight! THERE WILL BE FOPS TO CELEBRATE. Once i reach goal though, I plan on swapping my budget for WW to a gym membership and tone that shit up, so I don't look like Fat Bastard at the end of Austin Powers 3. Moderator A Study in Pink Says: ![]() A Study in Pink 3 years ago on 01/23/10 Equipped: Home Pregnancy Test named "I'm going to name him Xantar II" Can you explain exactly what weight watchers is and what it does for you? I've never really been clear on it and their website is a bunch of selling points without any real info. motherhoodlum 3 years ago on 01/23/10 Equipped: N00dz of Bonk named "fuzzy luv" likewise. I've never really undestood the whole concept. Granted, a lot of my weight gain has nothing to do with the amount of food I eat.
