I'm getting accustomed to this diet change, though I think I might need to change to a protein powder with no sugar alcohols in it. Trainers are not cheap, but damn if a good one isn't effective.
Did yoga for the first time last night- I cannot recommend it enough- it is the yin to the yang of weight training. Gives your mind a bit of exercise, too. The speed walking competitor that's like 20 years my senior better be ready- when he gets back in a month I'm going to shock him (my trainer believes a bit of friendly rivalry can be a good thing- so far the old guy's kicked my ass at everything but back and shoulders). Remember: when training, fucking breathe. I had to do 100 bodyweight squats to finish on Monday, and I tried to power through the last 20 or so and almost made myself pass out. I didn't even realize it until later. A couple of the regulars were impressed and said they couldn't do what I had just done (true or not, it was a cool compliment). Oh, and sleep. SLEEP. Your body needs it more than ever. All that said, tonight was one of my two cheat meals per week and I fucking enjoyed every bit of it. One week in i have lost 2 pounds. Im using laziness to my advantage by not having pre-made snacks around the quickest thing for me to make when i get hungry is salad.
Also now that the weather is nice i am getting back into walking more. I think it might be time to see the Doctor though, all my years of smoking are catching up with me, i get winded way to easy when i exercise, I suspect i might be on my first noticeable stop in the world of COPD. Any tips for quitting smoking would be appreciated. I'm actually starting to see how it is limiting my life so i think the motivation is there i have already tried the gum, lozenges, e-cigarettes, and my dr. wont let me take chantix kashira 13 months ago on 04/05/12 Equipped: Embarassing Yaoi Fanfiction by kashira named "The Story Of Eppy and Fievel" I'm going to the gym with one of my work friends on Monday on her friend pass, and I think I might end up joining. It's a lot easier for me to work out regularly when I actually go to a gym than it is at home where I can just sit on the computer/Netflix all night. kairi-g 13 months ago on 04/07/12 Equipped: Flux Capacitor named "desire" Yes! 2 consecutive days of going to the gym! Tomorrow is pure strength day and then a break day with maybe just walking.
Feeling good! Getting fit rules. aUdioquark 13 months ago on 04/11/12 Equipped: Banana named "practice." Awesome: I lost 50 lbs and I'm about 10 away from "goal weight"
Not awesome: I've still got a lot of work to do in the toning/getting rid of excess flab department but it's looking more and more like plastic surgery is going to be the only way to get rid of this gross, saggy skin under my stomach and my thighs are always going to be HUGE. Oh well. Moderator Lindze Says: ![]() the.avidpedestrian 13 months ago on 04/11/12 Equipped: Apple named "hot for teacher" Yeah, that IS amazing! That's my goal, too.
I'm having a lot of trouble with my diet and all, since I don't do much of the cooking where I live. Also, I work 60 hours a week, so finding time to exercise is super hard. But I'm doing it anyway, and you are now my inspiration! aUdioquark 13 months ago on 04/12/12 Equipped: Banana named "practice." I feel kind of silly being anyone's inspiration because I wasn't really busting my ass in the gym or sticking to a meal plan or anything, I just had a physically demanding job that kick-started my metabolism!
That being said, I have been doing a few things that really help: - Taking the stairs. My apartment has 60+ steps and no elevator. I sprint them whenever possible. - Cutting out sugar (for the most part). - Not denying myself the tasty things, but making sure they're in the proper portions. - Making healthier choices when I do eat out. Vietnamese food, for instance, is usually just as cheap as Chinese food, with about 3/4 less grease. - Salads. All the time. Tulip O'Hare 13 months ago on 04/13/12 Equipped: Foreigner Belt... Jaws Of Oblivious 12 months ago on 05/22/12 Equipped: Giant Robot named Rumpleteazer named "The Scapegoat" I could totally use some help getting back into shape! I'm pretty much tethered to the house (well, the littlest little one to be honest, as I'm breastfeeding her), so going to the gym is not in the near future. It's also an enormous pain in the ass getting out of the house with the kids even for a walk, so I need some exercises and/or cheap and small pieces of equipment (weights are on the list to acquire soon) to help me lose my baby weight. Already cutting down on carbs and crap and watching my calorie intake, which is helping, but I need to really get it into gear and get stronger. Any suggestions? So you know, small house so no way a treadmill or any kind of weight machine will fit. thetealappeal 12 months ago on 05/22/12 Equipped: Cursed Videotape. Seven days starting....
