Jesus, you guys should really get into F1

Got up a bit early to watch it and its a bit dissapointing from a McClaren point of view (fuck, I never thought I'd say that, been a Williams man all my life!!!).

Great drive from Alonso despite his downshift issue.

The really exciting racing doesn't start until you hit the older circuits like Brazil or Spa in Belgium :)

Since nobody is gonna read this thread anyway, I just wanna say Pudduh, rock on, brotha-man.

What can we do to get more people into F1? This is the first race I'm watching this year, and FUCK do I miss this! First race of the season you watch is always the greatest.

Hahaha @ Alonso! Good work by Button as well, braking late a lot and making Alonso force a mistake. Even if his gearbox held he would have overshot the corner anyway.

Alonso's reaction is probably an agonised "NNNOOOOOOOO! I WAS SOO CLOSE!"

Its going to be really interesting, China next week or the week after?

If Alonso's gearbox didn't go into neutral on the downshifts, he would've held himself further in the race and would've taken Button.

Much earlier as well. I'd say his previous two or three unsuccessful attempts were foiled by his gearbox issues. He had phenomenal pace throughout the race and I think if he was racing with an ok car Ferrari would have pit him first rather than Massa.

Watching him drop back so many feet in those turns when he could've glided into a winning spot was soooooooooo fucking painful. UGH!!!!

Every time, every time...

He'd dive through at turn one and you'd think "he's got him, Buttons toast" and then Alonso would be like "5th, 4th, 3rd...GRRRRCCHHNN...ugh 2nd gear" and Button would get away with it.

Why Button decided to pit so early I don't know. McClaren team plan must have been "okay Button-owski, you gotta come in early so ya can fuck up ya tires!"

I actually thought this was a pretty good race. There was plenty of tension between the McLarens and the Ferraris. The Red Bulls are scarily fast though and hopefully they have put their reliability issues behind them to get more finishes that they deserve.

Red Bull really deserved a break. Adrian Newey (Ross Brawn's arch nemesis) has been working day and night on that car and its a beauty. I'm sure Frank Williams and Patrick Head are still kicking themselves for letting him go in the late 1990s.

So guys, what are we goign to do to get everyone to watch F1?

Btw, this year my passion for Ferrari is gonna drop a bit. Shell is what got me into F1, since my dad has close ties to them and they got us free tickets to Malaysia back in 2007 and put us in a swanky hotel suite. We got all kinds of Ferrari gear to wear, plus I just love their cars in general.

But now that there's no domination between just two teams, it's a far more open field to see what can happen. I like cheering on Renault, but after Red Bull's performance and the fact that I like their racers, I don't know who exactly to cheer for the most. Cheering on Ferrari is almost like cheering the Yankees, so I want an up and coming batch of engineers, pit crew, and racers to show that they can run with the best.

You've come into the sport at the right time for the exactly the right reasons.

Red Bull I really like but cheering on McClaren is like cheering on the Yankees as Ron Dennis (the owner/manager) has been consistently a scheming bastard since the 1980s. He's almost like Vince McMahon he's such a bastard, especially when he almost made Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna kill each other in the 1980s.

Williams were the top dogs in the 1990s with world champs like Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve but have since faded into obscurity while Ferrari are kind of like the a team thats consistently good, maybe has a good few years before slipping back into 2nd or 3rd place again for another few years. Oh yeah and they're a good team with a shit pit crew. Classic Italians: total chaos.

Basically out of the old teams who are over 30 years old, only Ferrari, McClaren and Williams survive. Everyone else are brand new.

I have no fucking idea how we're going to get people to watch F1. How did we get everyone to adopt a team for the soccer world cup back in 2006?
