So I saw a few months back there was some replies to a thread for about SWTOR (titled "Fuck you. Part of me still likes Star Wars..."), but both the vague nature of the title along with it being a few pages back prompted me to start a new thread.

The biggest thing was that Woohoo Cthulhu asked if there was any interest in forming a Sith Guild. There were a few people who chimed in, but the thread was derailed with talk of the Kinect Star Wars game. Anyway, looking for interest in making an OB Sith guild, along with any suggestions for it's name.

So it this a general SWOTR (in my head, it sounds like "swatter") thread or a "Let's make an evil Sith guild and make an OB group activity of force choking innocent bitches" thread?

It's both. I wanted a place to talk about SWTOR in general, but also throwing out the idea for an OB guild (I only say Sith because that's what was mentioned).

Just get the ball rolling on things other than the guild, for this week's friday update, some questions were asked by the community, including them stating that while they won't have it in at release, they do intend to add a Dual Spec system shortly after release.

Also, while they didn't explicitly say so, it seemed likely that this was for talent builds and not Advanced Classes.

I'm so on the fence about this game. I built my PC for Star Trek Online, and barely play it. I played WoW for a bit, but could never get into it. I just don't do MMOs. I also never finished the KOTOR games, although KOTOR2 caught my attention for more than 20 mins. I just don't know!

Honestly, Tranoid, while I've already drunk the koolaid for this game, looking at your history, I'd say no. About the only thing that would make me change my opinion would be if you liked other BioWare type games. What's your feeling on games like the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series?

I want to try this if I get a new pc in the near future, which I'm sure I will before too long. My great fear is that it will make me want a new WOW account. Yuck!

Mike, I have the same flaky relationship with MMOs, but I'm still pumped for this game. ToR catches my eye because BioWare seems to be making it compelling for multiplayer AND single player. Honestly, any MMO is worth it if you get your free month's worth of entertainment out of it.

I'm all for starting an OB guild for either side of this game, but we've got plenty of time until it's release to hash out details.

I’m all for starting a guild but I would have to be on the republic side since I decided to go the trooper route in the game when I get it. If we do end up with just an OB Sith group then I might consider jumping ship and going bounty hunter. Wonder if I’ll be able to make a Gamorrean bounty hunter. That I would go for.

From Beta, the 8 races are: Human, Cyborg (humans with cybernetic parts), Twi'lek, Zabrak, Chiss (Imperial Only), Rattataki (Imperial Only), Sith Pureblood (Sith Only), Mirialan (Republic Only), and Miraluka (Jedi Only).

Now, there have been rumors about a "Legacy System". We're not fully sure what it is, but BioWare devs have hinted at somehow unlocking other races or race/class combos. Most likely this will be to give people who want to reroll additional options. As to whether it will be the option to unlock all races to all classes or just more options which make sense within the storyline remains to be seen though. Some even are tossing about the idea of additional races that you will unlock, but this seems like a bit of a stretch to me...

Finally, if there is a particularly strong desire for it, I have no problem making a Republic guild instead. As I mentioned before, I just said Sith because it was brought up. Personally I plan on playing through the game will all the classes at least once anyway.

Dude, not nearly as soon as you hoped? It's only like, three months away! I literally wasn't expecting this game out before Q3 2012.

Well, there was some speculation, placing it in between late October and early November. It was reasonably thought out for when the information was available, but was dated (and obviously wrong).

Having worked on this for a few months, I can honestly say it will blow the MMO and gaming experience out of the water.

That's encouraging, though it's always hard to tell how something will be received by the public. SW:G, for example, everyone was all excited about because it was new and great and whatnot, but all the new-ness ended up being awful.

After that raging disappointment, I try to keep my expectations managed as far as Star Wars goes.

It's a shame, too. The genre had so much potential and didn't deserve to die like this.

I think I've settled on a Jedi Consular as my main. I'll have a Sith alt for sure, but I'm not too worried about how I'll be putting him together for the time being.

My basic gameplan is to play with local friends on the Republic side of things. In an ideal world, OB will go Republic as well and everyone will be on the same server. Thoughts?

All I know is, I'll be fucked in the ass by a professional boxer before I'll play Sith scum.
