Gen. Chat “The Nicest Thing Anyone's Ever Done For You” by Tulip O'HareNurse Chapel 15 months ago on 03/23/12 Equipped: Kiss from Dr. Girlfriend a customer I'd met in passing once or twice gave me a $300 pair of pit tickets to see Nine Inch Nails. he refused to let me pay him anything for them and I never saw him again.
I had a shitty day at work a couple of weeks ago so my best friend decided to surprise me by taking me to see Jonathan Coulton and They Might be Giants. he refused to let me pay him back for the ticket. Twice as awesome given that he's not the most thoughtful guy in the world and the biggest flake I know (we've been friends for almost 20 years and he's been with his current girlfriend for just over 9 years, and he still forgets both of our birthdays and their anniversary every year. he even forgot his own birthday this year) and he's completely shit at keeping secrets. my friends chipped in to pay for my registration and hotel for a con last year because they knew I couldn't afford it and they didn't want to go without me. Laurette 15 months ago on 03/23/12 Equipped: Triforce named "DANANANA NA NA NANANA" With all my moms injuries, and me not being able to do it due to allergy attacks that are awful, our grass had gotten pretty high, we'd tried to call my cousin but they hadn't gotten around to it, and no one else had said anything, but today we came home to find our entire yard cut, weedeated, and swept clean. Turns out our neighbors did it just because. This is perfect because our landlord is coming Monday. Morocco 14 months ago on 03/30/12 Equipped: Most Amazing Thing Ever!!!! One of the guys my mom dated when I was 14 bought me a computer. Even if he did it to impress her, it was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for me.
I used that computer to start my career. I will always be in his debt. I doubt he remembers me. tranoidnoki@buttmail.com 14 months ago on 03/30/12 Equipped: Embarassing Yaoi Fanfiction by LostDecoy named "The Adventures of Junun and Dio" Morocco said: No joke, this is the coolest thing I've read all day. vlyandra 14 months ago on 03/30/12 Equipped: Symmetrical Bread Stack named "Carboloading" When I was in junior high, we did a Secret Santa exchange. I gave my person a gift... and never got one from my Santa. I was pretty bummed.
The next day, one of the guys in my class gave me a gift anyways, even though he wasn't my Santa. He just didn't want me to feel left out. It's not the most expensive gift I've ever received or anything, but he had no obligation to do this for me and he did, anyways. That was pretty awesome. KanouKakumei 14 months ago on 03/30/12 Equipped: Issue of Newtype Recently, I told my mom that a few years ago, I was in an abusive relationship. She accused me of making it up, and blamed me for what happened. It created a big rift in our relationship.
At the crisis center where I work, there is a long, intense training course before they deem you fit to go on the phones. One of the topics that we handle is rape and sexual assault. I thought I was ready to handle everything. But then, when it came to a practice phone call, I needed to leave the room. One of the women in there followed me out. Even though she's a counselor at the crisis center, and volunteers to do this, I still really appreciate the fact that she came out, gave me a hug, and talked to me. She checked up on me again several times after that day. She was really the first person who pointed out to me that what happened wasn't my fault and that I don't deserve to take shit for it years later. I don't even think she knows the extent to which that small gesture helped me out - I think I'm going to tell her at some point. pamelaNeko 14 months ago on 03/30/12 Equipped: Devo Hat named "uncontrollable urge!" I let her know how much difference that made in my life! Some random guy gave me a heart balloon, told me to have a nice day, and walked away. For someone who was largely overlooked by, well, everyone, I was really touched by it. I was happy as a clam all day. diavana 14 months ago on 03/30/12 Equipped: Used Panties From Carmila My friend paid for our trip to Italy recently - I hope it was worth it to her because I feel like we bonded so much that our friendship now is priceless. My ex even started drama with me via e-mail while we were on the trip and she stood by me the whole time -- consoled me, defended me, etc.
...Even though my ex is HER boyfriend's cousin lol Devi 14 months ago on 03/30/12 Equipped: Lawn Gnome named "Pablo" Kerridwynne said: A class friend did something similar for me years ago! I had been "let go" again by my ex the day before Valentines, and then V-day morning my dad's dog had been run over and was at the vet. My class friend, without knowing at all what happened, brought me coffee and cheered me up. She also helped hem my pants because they'd gotten rain soaked. I should go look her up, I haven't heard from her in years. jrosario7 14 months ago on 04/02/12 I noticed there are far more women in this thread then men...... lol wonder why that is?
