Did anyone play the open beta this past weekend? What are your thoughts?

Personally I really liked it. I played on a PvE RP server.
I made a bunny person, (of course) and i couldn't get over how tiny i was compared to everything! Aside from being super cute, i was also a sorcerer character. I always play ranged characters, but usually with my bf who usually plays a tank. He didn't play the demo, so i was on my own this time. I was surprised how nice the combat system was, and that as a sorcerer I was handed some great spells, such as (what I called) "Back the fuck up" where the character jumps backwards so they can use ranged attacks. The scenery was beautiful and fit my "could possibly exist" requirement. (I don;t like WoW cause its too cartoony). I also like that you can be a hamster/guinea pig character.

Those bunny people are like so disturbing. Tiny girl bodies with thick-ass hips and ballet dancer thighs.

The puppy/badger men are adorable, though.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. The story is lacking, but the world and combat system totally make up for it. Amassed a bunch of trade-ins to buy the full version.

When I playing the open beta this weekend there were way too many people complaining about how the Elin were nothing but sexualized eight year-olds and that anyone playing them must be a pedophile.

Apparently they were even more loli looking in the original Korean version, and they toned it down/matured them for the US release.

Or, as I google it after typing, they were just far more scanitly clad...

I don't care either way how the Elin look. Although I am convinced that the people complaining about the Elin looking like little girls are probably closet pedophiles themselves. I see the same senseless argument in other places, too, that if they look like they're ten years old, then they must be ten years old.

The Popori are obviously the male version of the Elin.

Just by mere coincidence, a lot of the players on my Tera server are also on my server for Final Fantasy XIV.

I'm on the Dragonfall server playing as a High Elf archer.

Is there anything that makes this game special as compared to the spate of other fantasy MMOs out there? In my experience, every MMO since WoW has either been a WoW clone, or has sucked.

Where does this one fit?

Well the combat system is the big draw. It's an action MMO. You manually aim your attacks and dodge the enemy without any real assistance from locking on.

Anyone still playing? I am and i still love it! i wish the elin were scantily clad like inthe Korean version, cause ive never seen any 10 year old with thighs that thick. I also found out that in the Korean version the elin are the females of the popori (which weirded me out for a second, but kinda makes sense).

I love the combat system, and on my server (PvE RP) everyone is super nice. ive had 7/10 partys be good. I also randomly walk up to people and invite them to party to help me complete some quests, and so far everyone has been super nice about it, saying that its always more fun to play with someone else, and the quests complete faster.

I'm currently on the popori homeland-which is gorgeous. I am just hating this "witch academy" portion. the creatures are too close together (being a ranged character, i often back up into a second mob, and before i know it i have 4 attacking me with no where safe to run and then i die.) and they re-spawn too quickly (on the chance i do successfully not aggro the adjacent mob, and defeat the first, the first will re-spawn on my head while im fighting the second, and then repeat.) I cant wait to be done with it. But, being an elin, i'm glad to call the area home. its just so pretty!

I usually only play about once a week or so. D3 is what's been taking up my gaming time recently.

Still playing a few times a week, haven't had much time for gaming in general.

I play it when I can drag myself away from D3
