Beta event this weekend!

Im hesitant about this game.

Guild wars one i felt so alone because of how the world was set up.
for those who don't know in guild wars cities were hubs where you meet people but leave a city and you we alone the world was your version of it.

your choices changing the world as some of the plugs for guild wars 2 have said make me think thats how they are gonna set it up the same way

You haven't looked into Guild Wars 2 at all, have you? They aren't doing hub cities and instanced areas. It's an open persistant world.

The reason they are saying your actions will change the world is because, instead of having static quests to kill 10 rats in an area, you'll explore and sometimes come across dynamic events that are occuring all around the world. One of the examples given: a event starts with centuars will attack a town, driving out the NPCs in it. A passing player could encounter one of this NPCs who will tell him about the village and point out where it is. If the player chooses to save the town, the centuars will get driven away. If not, the centuars will take the town, creating a new event. Now players will have to drive out the centuars who have started fortifying the town.

The town could be a place the player has pass through and bought/sold items a number of times. Finding the town attacked could have meaning to the player, so it becomes part of his personal story to save the town.

Or not. But the centuars will eventually escalate after taking one town, causing the event to become harder.

I can't wait to play in the beta this weekend and give it a run. My group will be joining the "Sea of Sorrows" server.

i wish i had signed up for beta. i'd love to try it.

I'm currently setting money aside to get it on day 1. This is one of the handful of games I'm really looking forward to this year.

well glad to see no of the hub city thing that was awful

but now im concerned about this mob invasion deal. on a less crowded server or area wouldn't it become really hard to deal with it?

Haha, you voiced the Norn Male? I played a bit before, and while I didn't play a Norn, I did visit the Norn area and it was awesome.

What does everyone think of the races in this game? I think a few of them their appearance looks to busy but overall interesting

Whoa, they are just coming out with 2 NOW?! Damn. I played the first one with other OBers way back in the day. It was the only MMO I ever enjoyed.

Wow...it has been awhile since I've let an MMO keep me playing until sunrise.

Server seemed to be laggy real bad and now I can't reconnect.

Someone give me back my MMO crack! I want to play again.

Norn male for life. This game is so fucking incredible I can't put it into words. To have to wait another month after playing the Beta is killing me slowly every day.
