The only reliable way is to re-record the instrumental portion. With release tracks, everything is down to one track and isolating the vocals from everything else is nearly impossible.

You best bet is to look for a instrumental, remix, and or a possibly a Karaoke version of the song if it exists at all.

now i dont remember where the sites are, but when i was researching how to do remixes, i found a youtube video that had 2 sites that actually have the audio ripped from alot of songs. Some new some old, overall they where good quality. Im sure if you browse youtube on remixing youll find something.
