I just had a discussion with my HR department today. Paperwork is being drafted by corporate and I should get an offer by Wednesday. We just have to iron out small details like money, when, etc.

All things are full sail for me living in Chicago by October of this year. For real this time. The discussions last time (2 years ago) were a promise from my creative director and HR person. This is drafted paperwork coming from the higher ups. I have approval for the move from 3 different creative directors, everyone in my reporting structure, and all upper management in Chicago.

It's happening. Time to shop neighborhoods for a new home.

Congratulations, man! One person who will soon relocate to another: Good luck, and I hope you like it there!

If you're looking to buy a house or condo, let me know. I can get you set up with someone someone in my company who will take care of you. We have phenomenal interest rates and reasonable fees.

Also I will get a small sum for referring you.

Even if not, though, enjoy Chicago! It treated me well when I was there (briefly, as I drank excessively and ate Ryan's sausage).

Touché. This time I will be. Can't wait. Next week I should be able to give an approximate move date.
PS: So I have my contract in hand an will be signing it come Monday. My first day in the Chicago office is October 1st.

I am shopping for a place. After long consideration I am focusing on Logan Square (right near the California El stop). Hopefully I can find a good little studio or 1br there. The price ranges seem reasonable.

I'll be moving there the week after I return from my 3-week Europe trip. So no rumors or me saying "my company promised me". I have signed documents from corporate. It's official. My last day in the Cincinnati office will be August 31st.
