Despite how screwed-up 3.33 was, I still really liked it. One thing for sure, this movie does have the fandom pretty evenly split in either loving it or hating it. I immediately thought of Macross Zero when I saw the levitating warships! Sure, M7 had the wacky controllers for Fire Bomber's VFs, but it was an entertaining series. Besides, it had Max and Milia in it, which for me, redeemed the series in my eyes! M7 is my least favorite of the Macross series, but I still enjoyed it unlike Macross II. Some of the more interesting thing that I found were my father's Freemason booklets, great grandfather's certificate that he successfully learned to operate a gyrocompass, and several letters from my great grandfather to my grandparents that he wrote just before their wedding.
