Today is my 1 year anniversary for my weight loss and I can happily say that I super exceeded all of my goals and lost a total of 35 pounds! (All I wanted to lose was 25) I feel great and look great. I am so glad that I challenged myself and grateful to my MD for telling me I needed to change for my health.

So last night I was packing all of my clothes and came across a pair of super old pants from when John and I were first seeing each other. They just kind of fit at that point and I quickly grew out of them. I was curious though so I slipped into them and when I tried them on last night I found that now, as I am, they are too big for me waist wise.

Wow.

I should mention that I was of little to no help at all because I had taken Flexeril before bed due to an injured shoulder. So everything that was happening was being processed 2 minutes after the fact. Just imagine how that panned out.

Durango Puppums is awesome and the prince of all dogs and John is awesome and the prince of all manly things. Unless "Bill" is really the guy that he has been having a homeless fling with for months. Then he can sleep outside with Bill from now on.

Does anyone get into this weird groove where you just crave everything? Mostly, I am good. I eat healthy and my portions are terrific. Then I get into these modes/moods/whatever it is where I just need to eat ALL the food.

Why? Does anyone have this problem? What foods do you crave when this happens?

For me it is hamburgers and milkshakes...

Yeah I am actually finding that my body CRAVES meats and fats now and uses them when I need them. I have no idea how that works but I obviously have maintained what I have so I just go with what my body is telling me now.

To be honest You do have to move a little. BUT even if you walked for 30 minutes every day (I have knee issues too) and kept on with the diet you would see a HUGE difference. Again, you still have to move but doing crossfit and pushing yourself to the limit doesn't have to be how you achieve that either. I did it in the beginning because I wanted to see results faster and I got them initially but in the longer run I have maintained by keeping the good food habits and just moving every day.

Yep Rick, and I think that is what people struggle with the most because food is an addiction. Easy, fast, and packaged foods are easy and addicting. They are also mostly super bad for you but we do them for the convenience as well as the fact that they are made to get you hooked one big mac at a time.

The mindset of I will work out 3 times this week so I can go and have this or that is an unhealthy way to look at weight loss too. I did lose weight in the beginning by having this mindset but I also lost SO MUCH more weight when I was just eating right and exercising less.

Having that ...

I tried to do the Whole 30 but apparently it made my Crohn's freeeeeeak out so I had to go back to low carb and low dairy to keep them in as binders. The only good part of that is I am back down to 103, which was my I don't think I will ever get here weight goal.

I use my crockpot like it was an attachment to my body.

I love braising meats and the popping them in the crockpot for stews, roasts and soups.

Pots roasts, pork roast, porks chops, whole chickens.... I love it all. They make big meals, they are comforting after a long day and are so easy.

I know w/ the 30 Day plan we aren't supposed to have anything that resembles sweets that we would eat normally but oh man... these nut butter "cookies" are a good energy booster for anytime in the day!

Serves: 10

Ingredients
•6 tablespoons all natural peanut butter
•2 tablespoons all natural almond butter
•1 small banana, mashed well in a bowl
•¼ tsp ground nutmeg
•¼ tsp ground cin ...

A lot of the foods that are really super good for you on strict 30 are also the lowest points for WW so I will be totalling my points but sticking to the paleo foods.

You are going to laugh at me... but while I think this is so VERY doable for me the two things that I am not sure I can give up is my milk/sugar in my tea every morning and alcohol. I want to try though. I want to reset my body and make sure I am doing the best for it this year!

I am so so sorry Marina, John is so right, pets are family and it is never easy when one leaves us.

If you can, maybe get or make your cat some new and exciting toys and spend some extra time playing with him. A lot of the time I have heard that peeing is due to stress and boredom which I am assuming he has a lot of right now because of the situation.

Always take them to the vet first though. Ruling out a urinary tract infection will be key to taking the next step!
