Say hello, and tell us a bit about yourself!
“I'm just your average geek. Lives mostly indoors, plays with computers, etc. I sometimes dabble with weather interests or take pictures of things that fascinate me. But by and large, I just surf the internet looking for new knowledge to absorb.”
What do you do for fun?
“For the most part, I play with computers. I also like to read books and watch movies. During the spring/summer, I track weather phenomena like severe thunderstorms and hurricanes, while in the fall, it's football season (Go Ravens!)”
What do you do? You know- job, school, freelance sorcery, etc.
“I'm your stereotypical IT guru working, paying taxes, and suffering from long commutes.”
What's your dream job?
“Not 100% sure yet. Storm chasing would be fun, but I've got that dreadful feeling that I'm going to wind up in management somehow. Probably in IT somewhere.”
Tell a funny story about yourself, or about something funny you own!
“Oh, probably my collection of old Silicon Graphics hardware might amuse a few folks. An Octane, several O2s, an Origin 300, a rare R8000-based Power Indigo2 system, Tezro, and now an Onyx2.”
Which gender are you interested in?
“Guys or girls!”
Describe the sort of person you're looking for!
“That's a good question really. Probably anyone who can hold a good, thought-provoking conversation that might offer a different perspective on things.”
Do you think long distance relationships can work?
“Each to their own, I say. They are not for the faint of heart, but those who put forth the effort can make them succeed.”
Name some of your favorite anime and manga...
“Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments: Lain, Ghost in the Shell, Jin-Roh, & Spirited Away. I also dig "American" cartoons like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry, because they are classics.”
What's some of your favorite music? What have you been listening to lately?
“Anything in the "Epic", a.k.a., movie trailer music, genre. E.S. Posthumus, Two Steps From Hell, The Immediate, and Les Friction. Then there's metal, rock, folk, vocal trance, celtic, bagpipes, etc..”
What are some anime/manga/gaming-related interests you have? Watching anime, cons, collecting cels, etc...
“As far as anime goes, collecting the DVD sets of the good series or movies (Miyazaki, Oshii, etc..). Ditto for good TV series/movies. Gaming, mostly RPGs. FPS or RTSes are good too, if there's a great storyline associated with it.”
If you go to conventions, what upcoming cons are you attending?
“Never really been big on cons.”
Into games? List your favorites!
“Pretty much all things Nintendo. I know way too much about that company for my own good. Then there's StarCraft, Half-Life, and Portal, plus RPGs like FF XII & Xenogears. Old-fashioned board games are great as well, like Monopoly or Clue.”
Kumba is currently piloting SCAMPERING NARWHAL with Fluorescent Sunshine
SCAMPERING NARWHAL's special combat abilities are known to include:
DOSSIER: Primary function is is to attack Kaiju and supply tricky counseling services to other Jaegers. Cannot be damaged by sensitive enemy attacks. During the Battle Of Los Angeles, pilots displayed an unprecedented ability to remain calm while simultaneously displaying outstanding alcohol tolerance. The only question facing these pilots, who nobody has ever fucking heard of before, is this: can they eradicate the Kaiju without fucking up each other first?
MOST RECENT PSYCHE EVALUATION: Mother was a loving parent. Father was one hell of a guy -- had the kind of pecs you'd kill for. At an early age, showed no promise for being able to walk in a straight line, but struggled with with chapped nipple. It was at the age of 5 that he stopped being a huge pussy. Each suprisingly filthy yeast infection was a step toward the bloody satisfaction that his parents expected from him.Actually managed to finally make make a friend despite refusing to talk about anything besides collecting Pokemon because of his burning passion to succeed. After becoming a Jaeger Pilot, his first fight against a kaiju was a disturbingly violent crowd-pleaser despite killing the old lady down the block. This was achieved despite fighting a Kaiju with unmatched power and ferocity. When the dust settled after the touching clusterfuck, pilot was reluctantly promoted to Chief Asskicker by pretty much the only other person that was still alive."The thing is," says a homeless guy we spoke to, "He'd be a lot better at embracing my love if he stopped being an asshole. But ya gotta love that. This is the pilot I want on our side next time the Kaiju attack!"Psyche eval recommendation: Needs copious amounts of coddling.
