He made mistakes but he was aware of them, and usually tried to make up for them, or at least admit them (instead of justifying like the rest of the Bluths). In S4 he has developed serious delusions, clinging to them to the detriment of his relationship w/ George Michael. But I do ... I miss the ensemble scenes most of all. I read an interview that implied most of scenes were shot very randomly-- not only were they filmed separately with peicemeal casts, but they didn't even finalize the plot before filming scenes? They were rewriting the scripts as they were filming. The actors seemed like they didn't even understand the plot arc of the season.
This made the first four episodes really distracting and disjointed for me. Micheal's character development went in a direction I (personally) really do not care for. When Sally Sitwell vi ... I hate that "make shit out of candy" fucking bullshit.
And let's be real-- I like Jinkx but every single thing she wore was just fucking awful. That awful $19 corset she wore to the reunion opening number was redeemed only by the yellow butterfly dress-- the only great, bespoke thing she wore all season. and her wigs-- the stylingggggg uuugggghhhh This is a reply to the thread "Don't Fuck It Up - RuPaul's Drag Race" by trampersand, posted in Otaku Chat pamelaNeko 39 days ago on 05/10/13 You guys know you can watch all the eps and Untucked for free on the Logo TV website, right?
Though there were some big personalities that I loved, I thought this season's runway was really weak. Seeing the elaborate costumes, hair & makeup is a huge thrill for me, so I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. The suggestions in this thread are already awesome. We have a Sodastream at home, so pretty much every drink has club soda, and if you can just omit the booze for tasty drink. The one thing I'd add is homemade ginger ale. You can make ginger syrup as spicy as you want it, and just add to club soda. It's so good. I want to try making a bunch of soda syrups this summer. I don't like to drink sweet soda, so I want to make some with spice & herb. And this one: [quote=S ... Chat pamelaNeko 60 days ago on 04/19/13 I started cross stitching - it's really simple, cheap to start, and there are tons of nerdy/subversive patterns out there. The repetitive and simple stiches have a calming effect. I have been reaching for the cross stitch when I would boredom-binge on snacks or booze, and it's been an effective & rewarding calorie-free distraction. This is a reply to the thread "Getting small! I've found two tactics to help...
1) Make it harder to snack by limiting what's available. This is fairly obvious but important. I used to sit at my desk at work and feedbag on Cheetos; I couldn't control myself when eating small candies. First I got rid of all the snacks I was binging... just stop buying them! I replaced them with stuff like - Almonds & dried fruit... fill me up faster & less guilt - Full size, high-quality dark chocolate bars... the big size allows me to satisfy my craving, but I avoid the bing ... This is a reply to the thread "How do you eat your eggs?" by Lord_BullGod, posted in Fatty Talk pamelaNeko 2 months ago on 04/01/13 I've been baking bread pretty in all seasons but summer. I'm a kitchenaid convert (kneading with the stand mixer). I never really got the technique down, though. We prefer whole grain flours like oat, WW, and rye. Between the dense flours and my poor technique, sometimes my bread just utterly fails.
I went through a rut recently where the dough wouldn't rise and the bread was always heavy & dense (though tasty). The gluten just wasn't developing. I started to realize that I was adding too much flour. So I adjust to be more generous with the yeast and lighter on the flour - I try to ... This is a reply to the thread "Making homemade bread" by pamelaNeko, posted in Fatty Talk pamelaNeko 2 months ago on 04/01/13 We do pickled beets, onions, okra & green beans. I've used Michael Symon's pickling spice mix the last few times, but to be honest I don't really love it. I like the pickling mix that Christian makes - I know it's really simple w/ just sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard seeds, peppercorns, bay leaves, and a couple garlic cloves. I tend to over spice by adding coriander seeds, pepper flakes, etc - which makes a pickle that is a little more complicated and, imo, overpowering.
We use these spciy pickled veggies as snacks, with fresh baked rustic bread & cheese, or as bloody mary garnishes.
