A laptop means a very big drop in computer capabilities, i.e. smaller Photoshop files and generally a more laggy computer than you could buy with a desktop on that budget. I feel like it makes the movie experience worse for me. Since I don't normally wear glasses, I'm uncomfortably aware of those chunky things sitting on my nose the whole time. The effect of fake post-3D makes me feel nauseous. This is the result of cutting up a 2D film into planes (sometimes called billboarding) and moving them in 3D space. It's the same effect used in early 3D games, like Doom. That turns my stomach. Even well made 3D films (shot with 3D cameras) can leave me feeling gross though.
