Katsucon 2005 Cosplay Pictures
Katsucon 2005 was a success overall.
There were a few glitches with the con. At least one panel was basically canceled due to audio-visual problems. The Friday night Psycho Le Cemu concert was pushed back by several hours due to technical problems and when it finally started, the sound was subpar.
Katsucon's new hotel(s) were also kind of problematic. The con was split up over two hotels and most people simply avoided the trek to the other hotel, never getting to see things like the Artist's Alley. The primary hotel wasn't very spacious and the con felt rather cramped in there. Perhaps more importantly, there were no large and open areas for groups to gather. I definitely give their choice of location two thumbs down.
These are fairly minor complaints, though. The looks on everybodys' faces told me they were having fun and I definitely did as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful to press people like myself as well as other con-goers. No convention is ever perfect and I want to thank the people behind Katsucon for all of their hard work.
We'll soon have a detailed write-up on the Psycho Le Cemu concerts, but for now let's just enjoy some cosplay pictures!
Pardon the quality on these photos; there were very few parts of the hotel that were illuminated by sunlight. The result is that most of these photos were taken in that dim, yellowy lighting that all hotels seem to be in love with. (Why, God? Why?)
Also, thanks to all the OB members who have contributed pictures!
