Final Fantasy 12 Gets A Perfect Score From Famitsu
Looks like FFXII has scored a perfect 40/40 in the latest issue of venerable Japanese gaming mag Famitsu.
Now, with the game's release actually on the horizon, the first signs are emerging that it was worth the wait. The latest issue of Famitsu, Japan's most widely read and respected game magazine, gave the game a score of 40, the highest rating on its scale. The score is derived from the combined 1-10-point ratings of a quartet of reviewers--meaning all four found the game all but flawless. This is big news.
Garnering a perfect score from Famitsu is something of a historic event. According to Wikipedia, only five other games in history have earned perfect scores from Famitsu: Soul Calibur, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Nintendogs. Interestingly, much of Final Fantasy XII's team also worked on Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics.
