Regardless of what you think of Mel Gibson, he definitely makes a good movie. Apocalypto is a fast paced, violent movie that really keeps you on the edge of your seat most of the way through it. It actually reminded me more of a really good action movie from the 80's than anything current. And while I've heard people talk about all the beheadings and gore, there are a few scenes, but I think people are blowing it a bit out of proportion.

Jaguar Paw and the tribe he lives in reside peacefully in the forest. When bad people from the big city come in to take them prisoners, events leave his pregnant wife and son stuck in a situation that only he can save them from. Jaguar Paw has to escape and save them.

One of the better flicks I've seen this year.
